I have been active in educational research for over 20 years and have expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. I am currently working in the area of learning analytics and I am using big data to explore student digital engagement.

I'm happy to talk about the debates around learning analytics, although learning analytics is not a research method as such, but it does raise interesting issues around the use of big data and algorithms and ethics.
