Our Work

The broad aim of the centre is to bring together and build social research methods expertise that exists at the University of Leeds and to promote the wider recognition of this expertise and opportunities for collaboration across the wider academic community. To this end our work has involved the identification and communication of innovative and impactful social research methods that are currently a strong feature of the research environment at Leeds.

Alongside our vision of an inclusive centre that promotes methodological breadth, we have identified a number of thematic areas that we plan to explore in more depth in collaboration with allied centres and institutes.

We plan to continue to work with the LSSI on promoting the potential of co-production methods, and with the Horizons Institute on examining concepts of decolonisation and ‘southern methodologies’.  In addition, we intend to establish a new platform of collaboration with the highly recognised Realism at Leeds and the new LIDA Science of Data Science group.
